Hendrix FamilyGrowing up a military brat, I spent most of my young life overseas in places like Okinawa where I was born, Germany, Crete (Greek island), and even Alaska. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Those experiences are dear to me and gave me a VERY deep love for the United States. I was able to see how others in this world lived. I wouldn’t trade my US citizenship for anything in the world. Some of the sweetest memories I have growing up is when my father would change duty stations (he was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant) and return home to Columbia and Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. We would visit Grandma Love and Granny Hendrix. One of the other relatives I always looked forward to seeing again was “Big Bill” - Bill Love. He passed away just a few days ago, and I will miss him. I always remember his stories and his paintings. The picture above is a small part of the Hendrix clan — starting from the left, my son Daniel, my son Timothy, myself, my mom Carole, my brother Johnnie, my son Ben, my wife Jo Ann, and my son Thomas.

Here is the video they played at this funeral.

  2. i miss him.everybody talked like they knew him at the funeral.the fact is, that nobody really knew him.he was humble. he loved me like a son at a time in my life when i was so alone and so many more. that was the way he wanted it. there were alot of people like me that knew his giving heart.he seemed to find a little bit of hope in the ones that had none. what he instilled in me became my saving grace. he never asked for anything back, he would just tell you give to the next man you meet that needs it. when you for the least of these, you do for me also. matt 25:40. he taught me that long before i understood anything about life. god rest your soul bill, i love you and miss you. johnnie
