I finally got to watch my first marching band competition that Timothy was in. It was held in Waverly, TN. It was a great time — just Jo Ann and I driving up in a quiet van by ourselves. We sat with the other band parents and boosters. Fairview Marching Band took third place for their school size. All the kids were incredible. There was quite a mix in styles. I was very impressed at how well they worked together as bands. The overall winner was Clarksville High School. It was an all day event. We got on the field around 6pm and the last band was around 9pm. Then the award ceremony was held and we got home around midnight. It made for a full and enjoyable day.
