28 Dec 2007 Are Christ and Satan brothers?
 |  Category: Daily  | Tags: , ,  | 2 Comments

Well, Huckabee said it. “Don’t the Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?” I won’t go into a long diatribe about whether it’s true or not. Just listen to what two Mormon missionaries say in a chat I had from the mormon.org website, “Ask a Question”. I saved it for your reading. I told them my name was Allen and played the part of a Bible teacher and elder who wanted to know if it was true or not. Yes, I am a Bible teacher and an elder, but my name is not Allen. I acted the part of someone without knowledge of Mormonism at all. I think you will find their answers eye-opening.

No Holds Barred“No Holds Barred” - Chapter One

Prayer of Asking - Asking Like David (Psalm 17)

Ask Simply - asking doesn’t require a large vocabulary, persuasive arguments, or carefully devised strategies. Psalm 17 abounds with uncomplicated requests.

Ask Repeatedly - God doesn’t need to hear our redundant requests for His own sake, since He knows what we need even before we ask the first time. Perhaps repetition in prayer is more for our sake.

Ask Boldly - The simplicity and repetition of David’s prayer in Psalm 17 reflect his boldness before God.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. — Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)

So go ahead and ask. Ask simply! Ask repeatedly! Ask boldly! Draw near to God and don’t hold back.

Timothy -- bugle boyWell, Fairview had it’s world famous Christmas parade Saturday. We had marching bands, JROTC, cheerleaders, clowns, muscle cars (boys and their toys), firetrucks, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, politicians, businesses, and horses. Who could ask for more? Timothy, my son, was in the Fairview Marching Band. The picture to the left is him as he marched by. I’ve included all the pictures on my flickr account. You can see the pictures here.
