“No Holds Barred” – Chapter One
Prayer of Asking – Asking Like David (Psalm 17)
Ask Simply – asking doesn’t require a large vocabulary, persuasive arguments, or carefully devised strategies. Psalm 17 abounds with uncomplicated requests.
Ask Repeatedly – God doesn’t need to hear our redundant requests for His own sake, since He knows what we need even before we ask the first time. Perhaps repetition in prayer is more for our sake.
Ask Boldly – The simplicity and repetition of David’s prayer in Psalm 17 reflect his boldness before God.
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. — Hebrews 4:16 (NASB)
So go ahead and ask. Ask simply! Ask repeatedly! Ask boldly! Draw near to God and don’t hold back.
