BookMoochI thought some of you would find this website interesting. I found it from librarything.com (a site where I list the books I have). What is really neat about it is you can swap books. You list the books you are willing to mail out. Others find them and request them from you. Each book you send out credits you with one book you can request. I am sending out 3 books today. I have probably over 40 books sitting around that I will never read again (mostly fiction). As much as I love books, I hate to see them sitting around collecting dust and not getting read.

Give it a try at bookmooch.com

Treasure of KhanA long time ago, my boss, Sandy Barrett, at Baptist Hospital got me hooked on Clive Cussler books. Well, I’ve read every book he’s written and am now reading his newest “Treasure of Khan.” There’s one main theme through every one of them — something happens back in history, we return to the present and Dirk is saving some beauty from a disaster which is related to the “something back in history,” and then together, Dirk Pitt, his sidekick Al Giordino, and the beauty save the world from the “something back in history.” It is pure escapism and I love it completely.

LibraryThingI just found one of the neatest uses of the internet you can think of. It’s called LibraryThing and it’s great! I use a program called Book Collector that I keep a catalog of all my books in. I simply exported out an ISBN list from it and imported it at LibraryThing and now my library is online and available for viewing by all. You can tag your collection, rate it, and even put a widget on your blog as mine has. You can see it on the the right sidebar below. You don’t have to import, however. You can start from scratch and just enter your books manually by name or ISBN. It’s an incredible site. Enjoy!
