My mom got me interested in genealogy again and I’ve spent quite a few days using a 14 day trial on ancestry.com. I got quite a bit of research done especially for my wife’s side of the family as well. It also gave me an opportunity to get some pictures of the Love family grave site on my mom’s side of the family. I also got to try out a new wide-angle lens as well on my Canon 20D. Enjoy the pictures. I’m trying out a new plugin for the blog that lets you see the pictures and select them right here in the blog.

24 Nov 2006 I’ll Miss You, Big Bill

Hendrix FamilyGrowing up a military brat, I spent most of my young life overseas in places like Okinawa where I was born, Germany, Crete (Greek island), and even Alaska. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Those experiences are dear to me and gave me a VERY deep love for the United States. I was able to see how others in this world lived. I wouldn’t trade my US citizenship for anything in the world. Some of the sweetest memories I have growing up is when my father would change duty stations (he was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant) and return home to Columbia and Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. We would visit Grandma Love and Granny Hendrix. One of the other relatives I always looked forward to seeing again was “Big Bill” – Bill Love. He passed away just a few days ago, and I will miss him. I always remember his stories and his paintings. The picture above is a small part of the Hendrix clan — starting from the left, my son Daniel, my son Timothy, myself, my mom Carole, my brother Johnnie, my son Ben, my wife Jo Ann, and my son Thomas.

Here is the video they played at this funeral.
